Maynor a US Cadet Nurse 1946
"..picture of my mother Ruby
Jewell Berry Maynor. The picture was made while she was a US
Cadet Nurse at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, 1946. The War ended
before she finished nursing school, but the girls were allowed to finish
school. She then started her 31 year career as a Registered Nurse at VA
Hospitals."

This was taken just a few years after
C.
P. Shrewsbury "Suzie" retired due to health problems.
He was Stationmaster at the Virginian Railway Depot at Eccles and retired
about 1945.

Virginian Railway engine #8024 circa 1940's
This is the Virginia Railway Engine #8024 that serviced the depot. It
also was the one that killed Harry Nesbit.
